Life is full of stressors and challenges. Most people feel that there is nothing to help them get out of the rut they feel trapped in. Finding happiness or reaching your greatest potential doesn’t have to be so far out of reach. The good news is that there is help out there to guide you. A life coach works with clients who want an objective, non-judgmental partner to help them improve, evolve, and enhance their lives.

A life coach is not therapy. Where therapy brings understanding and awareness of the past to a client, coaching starts with where a client is currently at and moves to propel them forward toward their desires. The personal coaches job is to propel the client forward by helping them break through self-imposed barriers get clear on their goals and determine a course of action. Therapists and doctors generally work with unhealthy people to try and bring them back to a state of mental or physical good health. They are healers. Life coaches work with healthy people and, within the scope of their current abilities, try to help them achieve the highest levels of personal life satisfaction that they desire.

As the client, you want to look for a life coach who understands your goals, can mentor you while at the same time lead you to find the answers within yourself, motivates and champions you, helps you create an action plan that you will commit to and holds you accountable. The best life coach is one who can help you figure out how to be happy in life!

Every month people who work in the environmental field meet up at informal sessions known as Green Drinks.

We have a lively mixture of people from NGOs, academia, government and business. Come along and you’ll be made welcome. Just say, “are you green?” and we will look after you and introduce you to whoever is there. It’s a great way of catching up with people you know and also for making new contacts. Everyone invites someone else along, so there’s always a different crowd, making Green Drinks an organic, self-organising network.

These events are very simple and unstructured, but many people have found employment, made friends, developed new ideas, done deals and had moments of serendipity. What Foods Can Prevent Cancer?

It is well known by many doctors that there is such thing as cancer prevention. Physicians agree that most cancers occur as a result of unhealthy lifestyle choices. Smoking, poor diet, a lack of exercise, toxin exposure, and high stress are all known to contribute to the development of cancer. Incorporating lifestyle changes into disease prevention program used to be considered “alternative” medicine, but now even conventional medicine is supporting the use of healthy diets, exercise, and lowering stress levels. Published estimates suggest that around 85% of cancers are caused by these poor lifestyle choices. The good news is that it is possible to drastically cut the risk of developing cancer by becoming familiar with the best ways to promote health that will ultimately prevent cancer.

The American Cancer Society recommendations suggest that people try to consume a mostly plant-based diet with minimum of 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day. It’s important to point out that a serving is typically only a half cup, so five servings really only add up to about two and a half cups. Also, it is important to know which foods offer the highest degree of disease protection, so that these foods can be incorporated into the diet. Some of the best plant foods for cancer prevention include dark skinned berries such as raspberries, tomatoes, and pomegranates.

The dark skinned berries have high levels of the substance known as ellagic acid. Ellagic acid is found is in many types of fruits including strawberries, cranberries, and especially in red raspberries. Ellagic acid stops cancer growth by interfering with a particular part of the cancer cell’s reproductive cycle. Studies have shown that ellagic acid has the ability to prevent the effects of toxins known to cause cancer, which in turn prevent cancer.

Lycopene is another substance that is found in plants which has shown substantial anti-cancer action. In fact, lycopenes are the major type of carotene found in human blood and serum. Lycopene is found mainly in red vegetables and fruits. Tomatoes, especially sun dried ones, provide the greatest amount of lycopene. Several studies have shown that diets high in lycopene containing foods are inversely related to prostate cancer risk. So, the more lycopene rich foods a man eats, the lower his chances of developing prostate cancer that translates to prevention.

Third on the list to prevent cancer is Pomegranates. Due to being full of potent anti-oxidant substances, pomegranates have been recognized as having preventative properties against several cancers such as neck cancers, prostate cancer, and lung cancer. Pomegranates have also been shown to have properties, which inhibit cancer cells from reproducing quickly. Newer research indicates that pomegranates also can help prevent cancer by acting to enhance the removal cancer causing toxins from the body.

By choosing a diet that is rich in foods with proven cancer fighting abilities it’s possible to decrease the chance of developing cancer. Trina Becksted is the founder of CloudNine Marketing, Inc. She has more than 20 years of experience as a marketing and public relations consultant. As president of CloudNine Marketing, Inc., Trina takes projects from concept to creation. Some of her biggest projects include producing five events for internationally acclaimed author Deepak Chopra, M.D . She organized and managed each of these events, attracting powerful co-sponsors like Canyon Ranch, Ritz Carlton, Mercedes Benz, Nordstrom’s, and The Cleveland Clinic Health System.

Trina’s clients particularly appreciate her extensive experience in public relations (PR) management. She has handled PR for Columbus-based Smooth Jazz 103.5 & 104.3, promoting the world-class musicians of the Smooth Jazz concert series, Richard Elliot, Marc Antoine, Russ Freeman, and the Rippingtons .

In addition, Trina has a strong traditional business background.
