NFL hall of famer, inspirational speaker and philanthropist Nick Lowery is set to MC the Sports Explosion event to be held at the Paradise Valley Park from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on October 15th. Lowery works with disadvantaged youth through his charitable organization the Nick Lowery Youth Foundation.
Nation Building for Native Youth (NBNY) is the foremost program of Nick Lowery Youth Foundation (NLYF.) 1,000 youth have been reached through the materials and workshops made available by the foundation. The long-term goals of the program are to enable Native youth to lead positive, successful lives and ultimately serve and lead their communities.
The Phoenix Women’s Sports Association in conjunction with Lowery, women’s soccer legend Brandi Chastain and former Arizona Diamondbacks player Luis Gonzalez is reaching out to the entire valley community through the Sports Explosion event in order to connect with youth and families. Their goal is not only to call the community to action, but to give families opportunities and tools they need in order to lead healthier, active lifestyles.
This event will include sports and fitness clinics, autograph and photo sessions, sports demonstrations, interactive games, nutrition and wellness booths, health screenings and more. The Sports Explosion is a free, interactive and educational event.
